things to consider

Wedding Day Makeup is not the same as everyday makeup.
If you are receiving makeup services, here are some important things to consider.

1. Time Frame – Day of makeup requires longevity. Services begin in the morning and are expected to finish before the ceremony begins, which means most ladies are wearing the makeup 10+ hours!

2. Photos – Most of the time a professional photographer is hired for the day, or someone’s aunt is running around snapping photos on their phone. Most photographers are hired based on their style – Makeup can appear too light or too dark depending.

3. No Makeup – If you are one who never wears makeup and are wanting it done, it’s important to go in with an open mind. I recommend going for a natural glam as its closest to looking/feeling like yourself.

4. Following Trends – Trends come and go and I recommend carefully following makeup trends when receiving makeup services. Book a trial if you are wanting to try something new. Understand trends may not be able to be performed due to lack of education, experience or it’s not their preferred method.

5. Speak Up – Makeup is not one size fits all, and It’s important during the consultation to let the artist know certain preferences, things you love and things you dislike. As the artist, I am unaware of how you like your makeup done and I am perfectly okay with adding a little more here and a little less here to make you still feel like you.

6. Makeup Itinerary – Each service will have a time frame to start and complete by. During this time, we will not be able to do makeup trials or makeup lessons. Please book those separately before the wedding date if needed.

7. How to Best Prepare – Come with a clean makeup-free face. Refrain from wearing anything hooded or with a collar; I recommend a button down or robe. Bring inspiration photos, but keep it limited! Do not tweeze, wax or shave your face the day of; this opens the skin which can lead to access for bacteria. I recommend 2-3 days prior!
